You are not allowed to travel to the US with ESTA if

• the country of which you are a citizen is not a member of the Visa Waiver Program

• You do not have a valid passport (e-passport).

• You have already submitted an ESTA application and it was rejected

• You already hold a valid visitor visa for the United States

• You traveled to the DPRK, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria or Yemen on or after March 1, 2011

• In addition to your citizenship in a VWP country, you are also a citizen of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Iran, Iraq, Sudan or Syria

A separate ESTA-Online must be applied for every person who wants or should travel to the USA without a visa. This also applies to small children and babies. Just like adults, children need a biometric passport to travel to the United States. If this is not available, but only a non-biometric children's passport is available, then you must apply for a visa for your child.
