A travel day is a 24-hour period in which you can travel on trains with your Pass. It lasts from 00:00 (midnight) to 23:59 on the same calendar day. On each travel day, you have access to the train networks where your Pass is valid.
If you lose or break your device with your Pass on it, get in touch with customer service as soon as you can. Share your Pass number in your initial message, you can find this number in the confirmation email they sent you when you bought your Pass. If you don't have this email anymore, you can also find it in your Interrail account in your 'order overview'.
If you want to board a train, you’ll need to purchase a separate ticket for your journey.
Yes, it’s possible to exchange your paper Pass for a mobile Pass.
The costs of seat reservations depend on the type of train, the type of seat, and the railway company charging the fee. If you book your reservations through Interrail, you'll also pay a small booking fee of 2 euros per traveller per train.
You can make seat reservations through Interrail’s website to do this, you need an Interrail Pass and an Interrail account.
Reservations will be sent to you as e-tickets which you need to print out and bring with you on the train, or you'll receive your reservations as paper tickets through registered mail.
A seat reservation is a ticket that ensures you'll have a place on a particular train, even if it's extremely busy. Reservations are mandatory for most high-speed trains and all-night trains in Europe.
Please note that reservations are charged by the European railway companies. They are not included in your Interrail Pass.
