Rosenthal succeeds Thomas in 1908. Since the 1950s, the brand has evolved into one associated with contemporary, design-focused, and simple tableware. 1960: Production is moved to Speichersdorf to the newly constructed "Thomas am Kulm" factory, whose exterior was created by Italian architect Marcello Morandini using geometric designs. Nordic design was the primary characteristic of Thomas collections up until the 1980s.
The design team of Queensberry Hunt and Thomas launched "Trend" in 1981, and it went on to become a real success story and the best-selling household porcelain in the world even now. 1996 A Yellow Design concept, "Vario" is successfully introduced and wins the USA Design Distinction Award in the consumer products design category in the following year. The adage "Good design is the design that makes you feel good" launched Trend's 40-year success story. Their porcelain goods' 40 years of Made in Germany heritage stands for their sustainability and robustness.
